Job-seekers top cities: 3 Metro Phoenix area cities rank among the country’s top 15 for job strength
Scottsdale, Arizona ranked the number one city in the U.S. for job market strength, followed by Chandler (No. 10) and Tempe (No. 14) according to a new study from WalletHub. The Washington, D.C.-based financial products company analyzed and ranked 182 U.S. cities across 30 key indicators of job-market strength.
Scottsdale’s economy is booming thanks to exponential job growth. The East Valley city is headquarters to a number of high-tech, high-wage jobs that drive new developments among property investors looking for surefire rental properties to complement their portfolios.
ASU’s SkySong development in Scottsdale signed contracts with some major tenants and announced an expansion over the past year. Property located across the street from SkySong is poised to be razed and replaced with a new mixed-use project that will incorporate a retail, restaurant, and hospitality businesses.
Additionally, the multi-million dollar Fashion Square opened recently in Scottsdale with a number of new first-to-market tenants, adding new jobs to the metro-Phoenix East Valley area.
According to WalletHub, Scottsdale, Chandler, and Tempe, Scottsdale, Chandler, and Gilbert, Arizona tied for the highest median income among the 182 cities studied. Gilbert ranked No. 39 for job strength, followed by Peoria, Arizona (Np. 41), Phoenix (No. 53), Mesa, Arizona (No. 65), and Glendale, Arizona (No. 68).
